Hi, I'm using the stand-alone Nero MoveIt version 1.5.10.1, device profile 1.5.8.2 on a Windows XP Home machine with Service Pack 3 and all subsequent updates installed. After a blue-screen crash in WIN32K.SYS, MoveIt no longer updates its index of files on my PC, even if I change the directories to be indexed or reset everything back to the defaults. Is there some way to kick the indexer, maybe deleting a corrupted file or registry setting somewhere, or am I looking at uninstalling MoveIt and reinstalling?
Thanks! |

Having never used it, I'm at a significant disadvantage.

Hi jf650,
I would suggest to reinstall Nero MoveIt. Please use the CleanTool to uninstall MoveIt from the PC: http://www.nero.com/redir.php?id=4558 and the following link to download the latest version from the Nero website: http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-moveit-update.php It it is necessary that you find and note your serial number before uninstalling Nero. Please proceed as follows to find your Nero Move it serial number in Nero ControlCenter: Click "Start" in the Windows start menu. Subsequently click the entries "All Programs"-"Nero" –"Nero ControlCenter". -> Nero Control Center will open. Click the "Licence" icon on the left side to see your serial number. -> Your serial number is displayed in the window on the right. Please write down your serial number. Alternatively, you can also find your serial number in the Windows registry. Please proceed as follows: Click "Start" in the Windows start menu. Click the "Run" command. -> The window "Run" will open. Enter "regedit" in the "Open" text field and click the "OK" button. -> The registry window will open. You will find your serial number on the left side in the navigation tree. Simply go into the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nero\Shared\NL9 (Windows Vista x64: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Nero\Shared\NL9) -> Your serial number is displayed next to the "Serial9" entry. It is structured as follows: 9Mxx-xxxx-xxxx-… or 1Mxx-xxxx-xxxx-… Please write down your serial number. Please note that the Nero General CleanTool will uninstall all other new Nero products as well. If one of the following products is installed on your computer, write down the respective serial number as it is required for the reinstallation process: - Nero BackItUp 4 - Nero MediaHome 4 - Nero 9 |

Something you could check before you do as GoofySB recommends is to turn off your anti-virus before you restart the server.

After doing a full backup, I took a chance and deleted everything under "C:\Documents and Settings\Me\Local Settings\Application Data\Nero" and rebooted, which appears to have solved the immediate problem. Nero MoveIt appears to be happier now, and my other Nero applications appear to be unaffected. I guess there was a corrupted thumbnail or device settings file in there somewhere. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
