I have from a previous computer a Nero Burning Rom 5.5, and a Nero Express 6 Vers
I was quite happy with these versions, running under XP.
Now that my old PC has died I bought a new one which runs Windows 7 home. Is there a way that I can make these Nero versions run under Windows 7?
I would not want to update as I was happy with the old Nero versions, I don't need the added functionalities of the new versions.

The only versions of nero that are supported in Win 7 are 9.4.26 and later. that doesn't mean you can't use your older versions but you'll probably find some things that won't work and tech support probably won't help with any problems you have.

If you have Ultimate, Pro, or Enterprise, you could download and install Virtual XP and run you're versions within that. Nero AG hasn't extensively tested running Nero in Virtual XP.

Hi theodora111,

as wither said Nero supports Windows® 7 as of version and BackItUp & Burn 1.2.17. Nero 9 Reloaded and Nero 10 versions support Windows® 7. Previous versions will not support Windows 7.

You can download the trial version of Nero 10 if you want to try it, of course the trial version is free of charge - it can be used for 15 days. If you do consider an upgrade after all you can purchase the upgrade here.

I am closing this thread now - feel free to open a new one if there is anything else!

Best regards
