As far as I know, .flv is not supported in V9. It is supported in V10.

Hi krd424, Hi wither,

You should be able to import flv files to Nero Vision 6 (Nero 9) too.

@ wither, flv files are supported at least since Nero 8.

@ krd424, could you please double check if you have the latest Nero 9 update installed on your system? Lastest update can be found here: http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nero9-update.php

If the problem persists, please let us know which audio stream does your flv files have. You can use programs such as GSpot or MediaInfo to retrieve this information.

You can also try to send one of these files to TechSupport via e-mail.

Best regards,

Before I responded, I tried an import in V9 and flv wasn't listed, hence my response- sorry for my error.

Hi wither,

No problem. Still it is strange. I just checked it with Nero 9 and I have it listed. Can not imagine why it is not listed in your version.

By the way, you got me working on Saturday :)

Best regards,

I hope that I didn't do anything to cause that but I warned you previously. :lol I wondered what was going on when I came in here today. Does it have anything to do with the holiday on Thursday (I don't know what it is)? I looked again in V9 and sure enough, it's there at the very end next to .wtv. Another mea culpa.

Good to know that you could find it.

It wasn´t your fault. Sometime ago I promissed you that I would be around every now and then on Saturdays :) Wanted to keep up my promise.

I am having the same problem. I am using Nero Vision Xtra 7.2.15100.15.100, which is part of Nero 10.

I have an FLV file that uses an MPEG4 codec. The file plays fine in VLC. It imports into Nero Vision but audio will not play.

I worked around the problem by using VLC to convert the FLV file to an MP4 container. This takes just a few seconds because there is no actual conversion of video or audio - it's just a different container for the same data. (In VLC, I checked the boxes to "keep original video track" and "keep original audio track".) Once I did that, the file works fine in Nero Vision.

I hope that this helps and that Nero fixed this bug some day.

and which audio stream does the source file use?
Could you please send us a test file?

Sorry, I did not realize that you had replied, since this forum does not seem to send notifications.

The smallest test file I have is 400MB. Unfortunately, I can't edit it down without changing the format. Please contact me directly and I can get the file to you.

By the way, I am able to reproduce this problem in Nero Vision 7.2.15400.16.100 and Media Hub 1.2.12900.31.100.

Thanks for your assistance.

If you check the original file with Gspot or Media Info, what is the audio format. In Gspot, click on the 1 under M/S to see more details. Does it say Direct Sound device?

I recommend that you submit the problem to tech support and reference this thread. I think they need to know about it, especially the part about changing from flv to mp4 with VLC.

I'm seeing more of these kind of problems and the only distinguishing thing I can find is the reference to Direct Sound in the audio section. I have no idea if that's significant. It could be just coincidental.

Please let us know what tech support has to say.

Hi trader, hi wither,

it really seems advisable at this point to contact our Technical Support directly at this point.
Please do add a link to this thread, yes, that should be rather helpful!

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Daisy
