I had bought a Samsung dvd writer, along came with it Nero 9 essentials OEM.
There was update for it so I downloaded http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-nero9-update.php Now under my Nero control center 4, I have V Nero 9 Trial (Not for resale) Serial Number: Demo Expiration: 03.02.2011 Nero 9 Essentials - serial number: OEM - Expiration: None In that update link above states. Nero 9 Updates are FREE to existing Nero 9 users, and include the latest compatibility with Windows® 7 operating system. Why has my Nero 9 update gone rogue? aka trial. When I clearly am and existing Nero 9 user. Do I need to enter my OEM key into the updated nero 9? and if so how can I recover that key to enter it? Thanks. |

You have an ESSENTIALS Version of nero 9 - the ESSENTIALS version is limited in many points. With the update, you get the chance to test the FULL feature set. As said: If you don't want this, just delete the trial serial. Your applications was already updated. |

The proper way to do this is to run the general clean tool to uninstall V9 Essentials. run the windows disk cleanup tool, reboot.
download the V9.4.44. disable your anti-virus software completely Install 9.4.44, using your Essentials serial number during the installation. You will end up with an updated Essentials version. |

That worked perfect, I recalled beginning of installation the first time it showed a key, so I uninstalled Nero, ran the samsung disc/nero oem, copied the serial number. Installed the 9.4.44 update with that serial and all is great. Thank You Wither, very helpful. |
