Hi
I'm new to this forum and i recently purchased (pre-ordered) nero10 platinum hd and got Nero10 multimedia suite 10 installed and i already have nero8. I have emailed nero customer support with couple of questions 10 days before, but didnt get a reply
The questions that i have asked

1. With nero8 showtime i have A-B repeat, which im not seeing in Nero mediahub? Is it something i'm missing? Im seeing repeat options, but no AB repeat?
2. Before i bought nero, i compared viewing DVD/blue ray with both mediahub as well as Powerdvd10, and i have seen powerdvd10 with better quality, is this because of HD version? Will media hub will improve with Platinum serial no?
Also do i need to purchase DTS plugin separately (As i did with nero8) or it will come with Platinum HD? I obviously purchased nero because it contains whole media suite bundle

Thanks for expert answers.

Hi Solaris72,

I just checked our database and we only received your e-mail from October the 3rd and not the one from 10 days ago. Sorry that we didn´t answer to your first e-mail, but apparently there has been a problem, because we haven´t receive any e-mail before this date. So again, sorry for the delay. Nevertheless, we did receive your e-mail from October the 3rd, and it has been forwarded to the MediaHub specialist. You should get an answer today.

In answer to your questions:

1)Nero MediaHub and Nero Showtime do not include the same feature. The A-B repeat function is not included in Nero MediaHub.

2) I really cannot tell you if the quality of PowerDVD is better than the quality of Nero MediaHub. I guess that this should be pretty much the same if the playback is done from the same computer. As Blu-Ray playback will come with the Platinum version, I would wait in this case until then. Regarding the DVD playback, do you get a bad quality during playback with Nero MediaHub?

3) Regarding the DTS plugin, the DTS plugin as such is not included in the Platinum HD version, but all the functionalities of the DTS plugin are actually included in the Blu-Ray plugin that is included in the Platinum HD version. So in this case you do not need to purchase the DTS plugin, as you will get this functionality included in your Platinum HD version.

Best regards,

Infohelp

Thanks infohelp. I think its my mistake, i did send only one email.

I love the A-B feature in Nero showtime and hope it will be included in the future? ( I mainly use nero for Showtime, burning dvd's and very rare video editing). I did compare the trail powerdvd and nero media hub sideby-side on the same compute and same time and the picture quality is better on powerdvd. But media hub is not poor quality, its acceptable quality and also nero has everything bundled , also i bought nero6, 8 and now 10 and so i gave preference to nero than powerdvd. The only version i leftout is nero9, and have lot of issues, when i tried trial, so i waited for the next release.
(i started using media home to view my media files to my playstation and to my HD TV, but with wireless, its kind of slow (lot of breaks) i need to try with wired network.

But i will skip nero next time, if they didn't add nero showtime future soon which is very important to me.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Soalris72,

I just answered your other post :)

Anyhow, I do understand what you say, and can also understand that you like ShowTime. I suggest you to install Nero 8 parallel to Nero 10 on your system. Unless you have a Windows 7 system, you shouldn´t have any problem to do this.

Regarding the quality difference between Nero MediaHub and PowerDVD, this is actually not a known problem, at least that I knew about or that I could reproduce.

I suggest you in this case to stay in contact with your TechSupport contact person to help them maybe reproduce this problem. We will probably need a test video file, or if this happens with all video files, some more information on your system to analyze why this could be happening.

Regarding the plans of including Nero ShowTime in a future version, I have to tell you that we do not have plans to do this. But, we are working on improvements for Nero MediaHub. I will forward your petition of including the "A-B repeat function". Unfortunately I cannot tell you if it will be included in a future version or not, but I will forward your petition.

Sorry that I cannot give you a different answer now.

Best regards,

Infohelp

Infohelp, thanks for your replies. I was surprised that lot of customers like showtime than mediahub and im not alone on this. The thing is, i like media hub too, but its missing some great showtime features and and we are very used with it!! (5++ years) .
I have 2 other machines (one laptop (w7) and desktop (xp)) I'm planning to install nero8 on my xp desktop. for windows7 laptop, can i use the same nero10? Currently i installed nero10 on my main windows 7 prof pc. Is the license is for 1 per machine or i can install in 2 machines??

with regards to comparing powerdvd and mediahub, im just playing the same file (from hard drive) for both the apps at the same frame and seeing difference, but its not a big deal.
Here is my machines specs
Intel i7 920 CPU
EVGA classied e759 motherboard
6G Corsair dominator
4*40 Intel X25-v raid0 with LSI 9260-4i (oeprating system)
5*300G velociraptor (video data)
2*4890 HD ATI radeon

Based on this do you recommend any setting for media hub (i enabled hardware acceleration)?

Per the EULA, you can only use the same copy of Nero on one machine. If you want to transfer it to another machine, you would need to contact tech support at the chat or by e-mail with your serial number.

I don't think there are any special settings you need to make for NMHub on your machine.

By the way, some people have been able to run most parts of V8 on a Win 7 machine. Depending on what your doing, you'll eventually find something that doesn't work. If you have pro, ultimate or enterprise, you could download and install Virtual XP from Microsoft and load V8 in it. Nero tech support will not officially say that it will work and I haven't tried it.
