Hello,

I just purchased Nero Multimedia Suite 10. When installing the disk it tell me that it wants to load "Microsoft VS PIA Redist" and "Reboot Validator". Soon after it begins loading Microsoft VS PIA Redist it fails giving me an error "The installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 KB957328 (x86) has failed. It closes and no software is loaded. I don't know what Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 is or does.

What are my options?

I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.

Sincerely,

Paula

For: What is .Net Framework:
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.net_framework

What to do now?
a) Have you installed all recent windows updates?
b) You can try to download and install .net framework directly from ms.
You can find it at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Just execute it before starting nero installation - does installation works?

Greetings, Jens

Could your problem be similar to http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=6708, if so then there may be a solution there.

Also view http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=6710, which is almost a replicate of the above. 2 Posts this morning about Nero 10 installation error

There is also an associated link there for a problem I had where the installation failed and was resolved by following the instructions.

Thanks everyone, I got Nero Multimedia to load but Nero Vision Extra isn't working properly.

I'm trying to make a DVD movie of several small video clips.

So I launch Nero Vision Extra and choose "Make a Movie or SlideShow".

In the "My Media Area" I choose import and import a file. I drag it down to the timeline area where I understand you can add different types of effects and transitions.

My problem is, I am unable to view the video file in the preview area. I hit the play button but nothing happens. I switch from "timeline" to "storyboard" but still no video shows up in the preview area.

So that's one problem....

So I launch Nero Vision Extra and choose "Make a Movie or SlideShow".

In the "My Media Area" I choose the sample file "flower meadow" and then I try to import my own video I get an error saying that Nero Vision has experienced a serious problem and must close immediately.

I am running XP SP3.

Thanks!

Paula

I most cases, such kind of problems are cause by 3rd party codecs installed on your system.

To check, do the following:

a) Run Process-Explorer from:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/sysinte...s/bb896653.aspx
(right side, below "Download" there is a button "Run Process Explorer now"

b) Start Nero Vision, repeat your operation.
Don't close Nero Vision after the error!

c) Now, go to process explorer window.
Here, select "View" -> "Lowe Pane View" -> Dlls

d) Now, select NeroVison

e) In the List of DLL, rights click to the header-bar, "Select Columns"

f) Here, in the DLL-Card, enable Path and click OK.
You now see all dlls loaded by nero visoonxx

g) Click on File -> Save As
The information is saved to a text file.
Please attach this file to this thrad - then we can see, if this is the problem
