I have the Blu Ray plug-in, and have tried for about 15 hours to burn a Blu Ray disk. I am downloading Blu Ray movies from a news server, but cannot get one to burn except as a data disk. I have downloaded about 3 titles from Bintube, and have problems when I select add files. The files never show up as supported files. I have also tried the Imageburn software with similar results, but farther than I get with Nero 9. Can anyone get me in the right direction. I just Purchased a Matshita UJ240 external BD writer, and it is working fine. Is there a certain type of file I need to be able to write it.

Thanks for the help in advance.

What type of blu-ray disks are you using? Do they say they're BD- whatever LTH?

What part of Nero are you using to burn the disks.

Which specific version of Nero do you have?

I am using Sony BD-RE 25GB 2X disks.

I have been using Nero Vision the most. I have tried to use Nero Burning Rom, Nero Recode, and Express, but did not have any luck.

I am usine Nero Burning Rom 9.4.26.0.

I have used Imgburn software to copy files sucessfully, but they were written like data disks that would play the movie on my computer, but not my playstation 3. Seems like the files are not supported.

What is the format of the files you're trying to burn?

Does the box or documentation for the BD disks you're using mention low-to-high (LTH)? A lot of disk manufacturers have gone to LTH when most burners are HTL (high to low). You might have to download the latest driver for your burner and install it.

The only thing I can see on any of the disks is ver 2.1. I see no mention of low to high LTH on the disk or the package.

I am not sure what program I should associate with the files. This is an example of what I downloaded from the news server to burn below.

[9/11]-[Planet.Earth.S01E09.Shallow.Seas.1080p.HD-DVD.DD.VC1-TRB]-[Planet.Earth.S01E09.Shallow.Seas.1080p.HD-DVD.DD.VC1-TRB]-[01/69] "Planet.Earth.S01E09.Shallow.Seas.1080p.HD-DVD.DD.par2"

I have tried to burn iso files, bdmv files, and I have tried to convert them to an image file to burn with no luck.

I hope this helps you.

I downloaded one of the files and they're in .nzb format. Neither windows nor Nero recognizes the format.

However, I found a utility here- http://openmyfiles.com/nzb/- which claims it can open them. I'm trying it now.

Forget it. It's not free and I'm sure you'll understand if I don't spend money just to help them with Nero.

I personally think it's a scam. Interesting that you have to pay for the only program that will open a nzb. I'm not even sure if it will or what it does.

Try to burn an ISO file. I don't know which app in Nero you're using but, after you try a burn, go to C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Nero and pick the folder for the app you're using. There should be a Nero.....log.txt file. Edit it in Notepad to remove your serial number and then post the file here.

I appreciate all your help with this issue. Maybe we can make this easier. What format do I need to download to be compatible with Nero, and I will look for that kind of file on the news server. Have you look at the software Imgburn? It is free and seems to work well. i did not have the folder AppData in C drive.

Even if you don't have Appdata folder, the file should be in the C:\users\administrator path somewhere. Do a search for .txt files in C:\users\administrator. There will be a bunch of them but you'll find the Nero...... log.

Nero can handle almost every kind of video file. You said you tried to burn an ISO file and that failed. Try burning the ISO file at a slower speed such as 6X or lower.

If you get failures at slower speed, I have to assume that you need to go to the drive manufacturers website and look for a later driver.

The Burn process does not fail, it burns like a data file with folders in it. If I put it in my PS3, it will go through the files on the disk, but won't recognise a movie file. I have used a 2x speed, which is all the disk can handle. My drive supports up to 6x. I will search for the log files.

I had an error in my last post: it should have said C:\Users\administrator. I edited it.

I cannot even get close to finding a log file or even the AppData file. Everytime I burn an image file of a blu ray, when I try to play it it brings up the nero site and tells me to purchase Nero 9. When I put my serial number in, it says my copy of Nero is the current one. I just need to find a different format to burn before I freak out! I have spent the entire weekend trying to burn a blu ray to watch on my TV, but am about ready to quit. I really appreciate all the time and trouble you have gone through trying to help me. If you have any other ideas, I would love to hear them.

if you go to the Nero control center\license, is your serial number shown and is it correct? If you go to My Nero, My Profile and the serial tab, is your serial number shown there. If not, add it in.

Appdata is a folder. What operating system are you using? Did you run a search on .txt in the path I gave you?

Go to the Nero toolbox and run disk speed with one of your disks installed in the player. What does it tell you?
Then run the Nero Info Tool. What does it say about your blu-ray drive?

I wouldn't give up on the blu-ray with Nero. It works for others. The biggest issue I've found is problems with the new LTH technology. In investigating this for others, I found that Verbatim uses the technology but there's no mention of it in the paperwork for the disks. Others are also using it.

I cannot post any disk speed data because I have an external drive that I use for writing blu-ray disks. I do not see any place to switch to this drive. I just tried to use Nero Vision to burn a blu-ray movie that was a7.92 GB M2TS File that was found by Vision when I selected import files. The process took 23 hours, and then gave me an error report. I have used Nero for about 10 years, but have been very unhappy for the last two. i have an error file I will paste below. it is just the last part of it with the error details, so let me know if you need more. I did burn a blu-ray disk with Imgburn, but have not been able to burn another one. It was an image file that finally worked.

It burned the image file to your HDD but it's not recognizing the disk in your drive. I think it's one of those LTH and the burner doesn't handle it. If your drive is connected to your computer, then it show up when you run the info tool.

The only thing I can suggest is to try to burn a simple mpeg to a DVD in your drive and see what happens.

Otherwise, I think you need to contact tech support because I'm not going to be of any help.

Well, if you can burn a AVCHD to a DVD with your burner, it reinforces what I said of the disk type.

I can't help you anymore with this. Sorry.

Try tech support.

If you are still working on this problem, this might help: When using Nero burning rom to set up your bluray burn, make sure that you set the settings to UDF type 2.5 or ps3 won't recognize the disk. Whenever I forget to do this, the ps3 gives any error. Hope this helps.
