I have Nero 7 Home Essentials and am trying to burn a mp4 to DVD. When I try to start, it won't accept the mp4 file as it says that Nero needs to be upgraded for that codec. How do I get the upgrade?
Thanks, jmhkd |

I don't think there's an upgrade to 7 essentials. Did this come with your drive? There are V8 and V9 essentials but I don't think they give any more than what you have. I think it wants you to use a full version of Nero. There are DVD-Video plug-ins for Essentials but I don't know if they will enable you to do what you want. You have to ask Nero about these plug-ins because their availability depends on your license. Do a live chat with Nero by going to "support from a Nero expert" at the top of the forum.
Please provide the results of your discussion with them to benefit others. This post has been edited by wither: Dec 7 2009, 08:57 PM |

Hi jmhkd,
Your Nero 7 Essentials serial number doesn´t the mpeg-4 encoding/decoding plugin. We don´t offer this plugin in our online shop anymore, so if you want to burn mpeg-4 files using Nero you will have to upgrade to Nero 9. You can do this in our Upgrade Center: If you are in the USA, Canada, or Mexico please use the following link: http://www.nero.com/enu/store-upgrade-center.html if you are in Australia or Asia please use the following link: http://www.nero.com/ena/store-upgrade-center.html All other countries please use the following link: http://www.nero.com/eng/store-upgrade-center.html Regards, Infohelp |
