Hi, I've got the Nero LiquidTV package with a WinTV-HVR tuner and whatnot. I installed the drivers and am running the TiVo registration form, and when I put in the Service Number, it says "Invalid Service Data". Can you help me?

For both of you, I would go to live chat and address the problem. Then I would post the resolution here so others can benefit from your experience.

I looked all over this site, and did not find Nero Live Chat anywhere. Anyone know where it's at?

Click on "support from a Nero expert", it will guide you to live chat. Note that Live Chat is only available during certain hours (GMT) from Monday to Saturday. Also don't be dismayed if the screens are in German, you can figure it out.

I've also been getting this invalid tid response. It seems to happen whenever, for one reason or another, I find it necessary to uninstall and reinstall LiquidTv. On one occassion I worked with a support person (Hambik) and we did finally get it to accept the TID. The key seemed to be for him to reset some counter, perhaps a registration counter, to ZERO. I say ZERO because when he just did a "reset" that was not effective. Setting whatever this counter was to zero did seem to correct the problem. I've now been waiting for a return call from support since Thur. since after attempting another reinstall I'm once again at the invalid TID during initial setup problem.
It really seems as if Nero should weight in on this. | In the above TID apparently should be TSN, the TiVo Service Number. This post has been edited by BillEng: Dec 7 2009, 03:01 AM |

I woud try inserting your service number one more time. In another thread, a different person was having a problem with this and reentered it today and it worked. It may have been the Tivo service.
For others, "support from a Nero expert" is on the first page of the forum near the top. |

Hi all,
I see that a lot of you are having Invalid Service Data error messages. Please run the NeroLiquidTV Cleantool, and reinstall the latest NeroLiuidTV version, this should solve the problem. If this doesn´t help, then please contact TechSupport and send the your Tivo Service number, together with a screenshot of the message and a NeroLiquidTV.cab file. TechSupport is now collecting information on this problem, as there are some customers reporting it, so please send this info to Support so they can analyze this problem. Regards, Infohelp |

This is a load of Crap!! Should not be expected to jump through all these hoops when we have a "Retail Package"!!! Was activated & working fine till Today.Copied SEC Champ Game from Living Room Tivo last night.Has been on & off (not running all the time)for last week.Failed to start up Today saying "Disabled".Re-enter # few times, just wants to contact support.Which turns out to be some stupid page,no mention of LiquidTV! They better get their act together or Tivo on PC WILL not last!I will certainly let my troubles be known everywhere.

If you go to "support from a Nero expert" near the top of the first page of the forum and click it, you will find an item for technical issues. Select it and then the appropriate region link. This will take you to an e-mail form that you can fill out and attach the support files. This is for all Nero applications. They can't get their act together unless people report the problem. The .cab file will let them look at your system configuration so they can compare it to other problem reports and perhaps find a common denominator for the problem. Infohelp has given you a solution to the problem.

Hi, I've got the Nero LiquidTV package with a WinTV-HVR tuner and whatnot. I installed the drivers and am running the TiVo registration form, and when I put in the Service Number, it says "Invalid Service Data". Can you help me? I have been having the Invalid Service Data error. As you well know by now, nero customer support is a bad joke and chances of a refund are slim to none. Just as I was about to toss the software I got it to work. Heres What happened: I got the software installed and got it to work but the whole experince was buggy with studdered video etc. So I was informed that an update was available. I downloaded the update.I uninstalled the software. I used the nero clean tool to completely remove the prior installation. I installed the update. Then the software crashed everytime I tried to launch the program. So I uninstalled everything and used the clean tool. Then I reinstalled the software from the cd. This time I got the error Invalid service data and could not get past this screen. Here are some tips to resolve the invalid service data error: You can NOT use an email address that is associated with a tivo account. (eg: actual tivo boxes) You can NOT use the same email address you used when you sucessfully got it to accept the email address and tivo service number the first time. (create a new email address and try again) use the same tsn number My Solution: Use the installation from the cd. Go to yahoo and create a new email address that you know that has not been used with the software or tivo service before. During registration: enter this new email address, type in your tivo service number correctly (note there are 7 zeros usually in the tsn: tivo service number) and then follow through the other prompts as usual. your zipcode, your cable provider, analog tuner, etc. My next problem will be getting rid of the jerkiness and studdering of the playback of live tv. I will probably try changing to a lower resolution. I hope this helps. |
