Number of downloads: 13I recently (yesterday/today) purchased Nero 9 which came bundled with Backitup & Burn. I have been trying to burn a .wmv file that was coverted from a ACHDV file. Every time I add the file, a window pops up telling me I have to purchase additional products. When I exit out, I get an error message saying that the files format is NOT compatible. Any suggestions? The first thing that comes to mind is that are special system requirements for high definition material. If you go to the Nero.com website and check on the system requirements, near the bottom of the page you will find the requirements I'm talking about. Please take a look and make sure your system meets those requirements.
If you click ok on the first message regarding additional software, where does it take you? It's probably going to take you to the plug-ins. Can I ask why you converted the AVCHD file to a WMV and how? What kind of DVD are you burning to? DVD-VR, DVD-VL, etc? Did you use the editable disk feature? |

Let me try this a different way, maybe I'm going all about it wrong. Here's what I want to do. I have a Canon HF200 digital camcorder that records in ahcvd. I can play the videos on my computer and HD TV via HDMI. I would like to be able to burn discs that would be playable on standard DVD players so familly and friends can view the videos that don't have blu-ray players. Being a total novice, I have no idea where to start or what I really need.

I'm not sure if this would work since I have never worked with AVCHD, but you can try creating a DVD-Video in Vision with your AVCHD files. To burn it, your burner will have to be capable of burning a DVD, not a blue ray disk. If you create a AVCHD disk then only people with blue-ray capability would be able to view it.
