I have been trying to install Nero 9 reloaded since 10/29/09. I know I have tried at least 15 times. I exited my firewall/virus program (Kaspersky) and still cannot get past 23%. I have used the GTC proggy on several occasions. I also have to reinstall the Nero Product patcher each time. It says it was installed but the install fails at 23% with "The installation process cannot be resumed. A rollback of the failed component will be performed. Some applications have been installed successfully and can be used. Do you want these applications to be uninstalled." "Yes" "No". I have clicked both trying to get this proggy installed. Nothing has helped. Can you help me out? Appreciate any guidance to 100%...

Does your system meet the minimum requirements for Reloaded? Check it out at their website.
Do you have any other programs running like Roxio which do the same thing as Nero? I would delete them (make sure you have a way of reinstalling them if you need them and Nero installation doesn't work. If so, Make sure you save your serial number somewhere I would run the general clean tool If you have a registry cleaner, run it. If not, do a find on Nero and Ahead (there will be several instances, not just 1 or 2) and delete them. You might want to do the latter even if you have a registry cleaner. Delete all instances of Nero in your C: drive Run the Windows clean tool making sure "temporary files" and "recycle bin" are checked. Reboot Turn off AV and the User Access Control if you have Vista or Win 7 Reinstall |

Well I did all that. I even removed my BB roxio media manager which didn't work anyway. Removed all the Nero and Ahead from my registry and a registry clean. It still stops at 23% and have to reinstall the new product 3rd. party patcher. Computer is AMD 64 3700+ 2.2 GHz, 2.0 GB...Windblows XP Pro SP3.

You're the second person in the last two weeks whose had a problem with Nero and is using Kaspersky. Can you uninstall it and try the install of 9? The other persons' problem doesn't show any resolution.
Also, here's what another person did just to install 9.09 and could be something you could try- 1. Reboot my machine into Safe Mode 2. Run the Nero Clean Tool as recommended in the download page. I always do a right mouse click and select "Run as Administrator". 3. Run a program called CCleaner ( a freeware registry and disk cleaner ) 4. Use the explorer search to look for "nero" on my system and delete any references on the C: Drive. 5. Reboot back to Normal mode. 6. Clean up the C: drive (right mouse on C: drive / properties / Disk Cleanup /Files from All Users / Select everything / Select the "More Options Tab" / System Restore and Shadow Copies - Let it run. BE WARNED - the last step removes ALL Restore points except the last one. 7. Run the Nero installation - again I right mouse click and "Run as Administrator". 8. I do not want the Ask Toolbar so I select the appropriate option. 9. I then select a default installation. 10. The installation starts and I WAIT and WAIT ..................... 11. After about 45 minutes the installation finishes and is successful. |
