Nero Live (Nero 9) support for Sony Giga Pocket tuner?
I have a Sony VAIO desktop (Windows XP Home SP2), with Giga Pocket DVR and Tuner. Prefer to use Nero instead of Giga Pocket. After selecting "SMRT Capture" for the tuner scan, Source "Cable", Nero Live detects the correct channel fine. But, I get "Channel cannot be viewed curently - the tuner is blocked." when I try to view. I have tried shutting down all Giga Pocket services. So what can be blocking the tuner? Anyone get Nero Live to work with a Sony Giga Pocket Tuner yet? |

As far as I know, the tuner is not supported by Nero Live. Strange that it would work under Nero Vision but not Nero Live. Different group of developers using non-shared routines between the 2 Nero products? Techsupport informs me that these are the currently tested & supported cards: I think I'll buy a Hauppauge. Nero Live looks pretty cool! Digital Everywhere: - FireDTV C/CI HDTV - FireDTV S2 HD-TV Hauppauge: - WinTV-HVR 4000 - WinTV-HVR 3000 - WinTV-HVR 1100 - WinTV-HVR 950 hybrid TV stick - WinTV-HVR 900 hybrid TV stick - WinTV-PVR-150MCE - WinTV NOVA-T-USB2 - WinTV NOVA-HD-S2 KNC-One: - TV-Station DVB-C - TV-Station DVB-C Plus KWorld : - PlusTV HD Stick 330 Pinnacle: - PCTV SAT HDTV Pro USB - PCTV Hybrid Pro Stick Technisat: - Skystar 2 DVB-S TERRATEC: - CINERGY DT XS diversity |

Hi Nate2,
It could be that the cards supported by Nero Vision are not the same ones as the ones supported by Nero Live. The same with Nero Media Home. I would attach to the list that Nero Support gave you, as this is the list of the cards supported by Nero Live. This cards have been tested, and work with Nero Live. Regards, Infohelp |

Someone at Nero must be reading my mind.
I got a sales offer e-mail from Nero a couple of days ago to purchase Nero LiquidTV (by today!) for US$69.99 (incl. shipping!) The LiquidTV package appears to include the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR950 (or 950Q ?) USB TV Tuner Card. I don't see too much mention of Nero Live on the Nero website. Can Nero Live do something Nero LiquidTV can't? |
