How do I view clear QAM channels? The tuner that came with my Liquid TV is a Hauppauge 950Q that supports Clear QAM viewing of channels without a cable box. My Tivo standalone box supports viewing of Clear QAM channels.
Any advice? TIA Sean |

I don't think you can. The tuner does not go up in channel frequency high enough, it tops out at channel 99 in that setting. It is weird as other tuners I have will go up to channel 126 and get the clear digital channels.

Hi all,
Nero LiquidTV does not support QAM tuning of digital channels even though your tuner is also QAM ready. Nero LiquidTV only supports digital cable via S-Video/Compisite Connection from a STB. Regards, Infohelp |

Two questions:
1) Are there any plans to update the software to support Guide data for ClearQAM channels? All of your competitor's products support this. One of these apps is even free. 2) Even without Guide data, is there any way now to manually tune to a ClearQAM channel? The standalone HD TiVo box supports this. If not, are there any plans to support this basic feature? The bundled Hauppauge 950Q tuner supports ClearQAM. This realy should be a fairly easy thing for you to support. |

I agree with you dude that this SHOULD be easy to support, but if you read the supported features before buying LiquidTV, Nero was extremely up-front about the fact that their software did not support QAM. I was very pleasantly surprised that it even ships with the 950Q tuner, instead of the lower-end model that doesn't support QAM. As you note, there are a lot of other alternative applications for when you need QAM. It would be nice if Nero would add QAM but my hunch is that Tivo's complicated relationship with the cable/satellite industry might create some sort of contractual (or at least business relations) impediment to a Tivo-branded product supporting clear QAM - just a hunch.
