When a DVD+RW is in the drive (SH-S182M), the check-box to format in Mount Rainier is greyed-out.
I can Mount-Rainier-format CD-RWs with no problem. This is the same in both of my MRW-compatible drives, same hardware (both Samsungs); one is cross-flashed (but the cross-flash is still MRW-compatible). Question: Why am I not being offered the option to do a Mount Rainier format when a DVD+RW is in the drive? Possiblilities I have considered: Can a drive be Mount Rainier compatible for CD-RWs, only? I thought if it's compatible, it's compatible. The compatibility shows both in InCD and Nero InfoTool. This version of InCD advertises DVD-MRW compatibility, so it's not the software. I believe is the "-" DVDs that are Mount Rainer-incompatible, no? Since I am using the "+" variety, the disc should accept the MRW format. The DVD+RWs I'm using are Sony AccuCORE, not some no-name brand, so could it be a problem with the disc? Any ideas, as to why is the box to select Mount Rainier is inactive, and anyone know what I can do about it? |

Hallo,
your recorder supports only CD-MRW. Sometimes the Infotool displays that the drive would also support DVD MRW, but this is not correct. Best regards, treskaan This post has been edited by treskaan: Feb 5 2009, 01:13 PM |
