I am using Windows 7 and have sucessfully downloaded Nero 11. I like to make DVD's and use Nero Vision for this purpose. I had no trouble doing this with Nero 9 and 10, but now with Nero 11, I get a black screen and it won't go away when I import the videos I want to burn to disc. There is sound, but no picture. I have done the updates and rebooting, but still have that black screen that won't go away. Is there any help or fix for this? I don't understand how it happened or what to do to fix this, but there must be a fix! Help!!

Normally, the first suggestion is to check to see if you have the latest driver for your graphics from either the manufacturer website or the laptop vendor website.
In addition, do you have NV set to do background rendering? Look under More\Editing. |

I have the same problem and have reported it to Nero Support.
Try reinstalling Nero 11 but do not download the latest Vision Update. My problem only started after the I installed the latest update. Remember to turn off the automatic updates first , run the installer select customize to delete Nero vision reboot your computer check that Vision is gone then reinstall it with no automatic updates . Post your results. First comment from Nero Support was my Video card driver was out of date but I checked this and also swapped it with a friends different card and still had the same problem. They have asked me for the files and project so they can reproduce the problem which I will be sending soon. A secondary problem is that a large project takes 8 seconds to load before the update but 3 minutes after the update. Time this before you do your reinstall. Please report your problem to Nero so they know it is not unique only to my computer. |

What I've done after installing and reinstalling Nero 10, then uninstall and install Nero 11 with the same black screen afterwards, so I uninstalled and then installed Nero 9 and it too had the black screen, but I downloaded a video anyway and burned it and then I wanted to see if the disc would play OK on my player, and it did, so I think I will just get use to the black screen for now, just knowing that the rest of the functions work fine from Nero 9 and settle with that. I've got the back up discs for Nero 10 and 11 just in case I want to update to either of them again. I'm sick of reinstalling right now, I'll wait till I'm in a better mood before uninstalling and reinstalling Nero. Thanks for any more advice anyone has... much appreciated!

I found the work around for my blank screen problem.
If I launch Vision by clicking on the "Nero Video" short cut I have blank screen problem and slow project loading. If I launch Vision by double clicking any Project.nvc file problem gone. Remember my problem is only with the latest update which may be what was released to you. Try this and let us know if you see the same thing. I updated my problem report to tech support. |

I got the courage to try and reinstall Nero 9, but the installation wouldn't take the licence key and so I decided to reinstall Nero 10 which sucessfully installed. The black screen is still there, but I used Nero Vision again to create a DVD and downloaded a WMV format video. It recorded fine, the screen stayed black and I played it fine on my DVD player, so as long as it records fine and plays fine for now, that suits me fine. I really don't care if I can watch the video at the same time it records on the disc, but it would be nice to have back, but whatever. I usually don't save my videos in anything else but WMV. format. I will try the nero format just to see the black screen go away, but I won't be able to put that format onto disc I don't think. I'm still learning from this technical glitch stuff, it's not the first and I doubt it will be the last. I did inform the Nero folks and have been working with them too. Patience!Patience!Patience! is the name of the game and of course hearing from you guys too and your ideas of how to fix this.
