Making a slide show to put on DVD.

Question. What type of DVD should I use. DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-W

Want it to play on regular DVD player, nothin fancy, no Blue ray.

So many options confuses me...lol

Also What format should the music be. Also so many option. I have .m4a and .wma

I am very new to making videos and its all very confusing. I thought if I got Nero 11 it would be easy..lol

What you want is a DVD Video. The type of disc won't make any difference unless your burner is something like 8 years old.

Open Make Movie or Slide Show in Nero Video. If you want to add effects, transitions, etc., click on Advanced Editing. Import your slides and drag them to the Timeline. Add effects, transitions, etc. as desired. If you don't want to do any of those things, you can just import your slides and add them to the Storyboard. There are some editing features there.

Add your music file to Audio Track 1. The formats you have are fine. You might have to adjust the length of your slide show or add additional music, if the length of the audio is shorter than the length of the slide show.

Select Next, DVD, DVD-Video. You can add chapter markers, if desired, in the Contents screen. Click on Next.

Create a menu or select no menu in the Menu editing screen. Click on Next.

Preview, if so desired. Click on Next.

Burn.

Hi Ynot22,

Wither answered great.

And, please do not use RW (rewritable) media as some standalone players might not recognize them. Standard DVD-R/+R media usually work best for making video DVD.

You can find the all the supported media, formats and codecs in the following link.
http://www.nero.com/eng/support-nero11-pla...quirements.html

Wish this will do some help.

Best Regards,

Thanks for help

It worked out except I used +RW dvd disks.

Slide show was of boys baseball games. Made a copy for each boy on team.

Something for their 2012 memories.

I followed this process and the burn process starts then just spins, nothing happening after 45 minutes or more. Trying to make a fairly simple 14 minute slide show with music.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

I need to see your nerovideolog.txt file.

If you're using Vista or Win 7, it will be in this path-

C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Roaming\Nero\Nero 11\Nero Vision

Just use the browse and upload feature in the lower right hand corner of a post in the forum.
