 NeroVideo: how to export for DVD to play on TV |

The manual just doesn't explain this!
I've made a video in Nero Video. It offers many formats to export the video into. So far, when I go to Nero BurnROM to make a disk it will not except the files I've made (avi, mpg4, wmv), and says I need to put it into formats that, as far as I can tell, Nero Video doesn't do. It also tells me I need to use Nero Vision to make my file into the acceptable formats. It was my understanding that purchasing Nero 11 would enable me to burn a DVD to play on a TV. How do I do this????? Live customer "help" will not help. The manual does not explain this (one is expected to be well versed in various formats and their acronyms, needs, desires [smirk]). I assume, you mean a DVD, that can be played with a stand alone DVD-player. Therefore open Nero Video, go to "Create & Export" -> "DVD" -> "DVD-Video".
Here you can import your videos, create a menu and then burn a video-DVD. |

Thank you! I figured it was something simple that I just couldn't see on my own. Frustrating how "you can't get there from here" comes in to play sometimes.

Putting the files into the appropriate structure for the type of disc you want to burn is called authoring. That is done in Nero Video\Vision, as Mister_M explained. Note that you don't need to export it to burn it. You can do that directly from Nero Video\Vision. Also, if you want to do editing, you can just select Edit in the DVD\DVD-Video Contents screen or you can start out in Make Movie or Slide Show.
