Hi,
I have made a blueray disc using nero video 11 from Nero 11 platinum and it works good. My problem is that I have friends that want the movie but they have a dvd player. It's possible to import the 2 titles that I have created with photos and video in blueray version to a dvd project to avoid having to trim the video and adjust music, transitions, titles along movie and other things? Then at last create the dvd menu as usual. At this stage of production there is none that rejects my video in a dvd project. How could I solve my problem? |

Well, you can't convert a bluray-project into a DVD-project. But you can open (not play) you burnt bluray disc. Go to the folder "BDMV\Stream". There you'll find m2ts-files. One for the menu, and one file for each video you imported to your bluray-project. Search for the right ones (just play the m2ts-files with a software player). After that, copy the relevant files to a folder on your hard drive.
Now you can start a DVD-project in Nero Video and import those files. Create your menu, et voilà there's your video-DVD. |

Thanks,
I have burned my blueray disc compilation to HDD in order to make more copies as needed. I tried with the stram folder in folder where the project was created and contains the BDMV folder structure. I thin that for now it will solve my problem since I'm to prepare a dvd up to wednesday, but in future I want to search a solution to mae a video edit independent of target device and prepare it with tiles, transitions and save it as a project or something similar and then if I need HD Disc I make a blueray and in other hand if I need a dvd I make a dvd compilation and could prepare these 2 versions with less effort as possible. What is the best way to get done? |

I'll have to show my ignorance.
If you don't create a menu, just save your project as a .nvc in the editing screen or export it to file. You can open the .nvc anytime and burn it to the disc format you prefer. ditto for the file, as Mister_M said. Here's where my ignorance shows. If you do create a menu, you can save the project as a .nvc from the menu editing screen but, you have to define the type of disc format before you get to the Menu Editing screen. You can't export the file from the latter and, if you save it as a .nvc, I'm not sure if it will be in the BDMV format. Probably Hg-dude or Mister_M will have something to save about it tomorrow. |

Hey there,
If you want to create a project which is not "attached" to a certain disc type in the beginning, you need to select the Make Movie or Slide Show option on the Nero Video start screen. Although you have to select a certain resolution (amongst other things) in the beginning, this option will allow you to create and save a project which is independent from any disc type. After you have created and saved the project on the Video Editing screen, click Next and you'll get to another screen which allows you to select the desired disc type. (This screen looks similar to the start screen, with a few other options available.) After you have selected a disc type, you can still save the project, e.g. after you have created a menu (make sure to change the name of the NVC so as not to "destroy" your independent project). I hope this helps! - lila-asta |

Nothing add from my side... :)
Starting via "Make movie" is the correct way to get a "all-purpose" project. Best regards, GyroGearlooseMS. |

Hi,
Thanks for your answers. I'll try that now because I need to make a new movie like lila-asta and GyroGearlooseMS suggested |
