Hello!

I'd like to make Audio CD's from my huge collection of .m4a container files with ALAC (Apple lossless) audio. Nero sees files, but when I try to import them in project it says that it cannot be done. Maybe Nero thinks that .m4a should be container only for AAC codec and that cause error - I don't know. I use Nero 11 and I want to direct-burn this lossless audio. Any ideas?

Note that ALAC was a proprietary format until the end of 2011 and it's possible that Nero hasn't caught up with that yet. You would have to ask tech support about it. Nero does support .aiff, .aif (both Apple) and FLAC lossless formats.

I assume you're trying to import the files into Burning Rom, Audio CD. Is that the case?

Yes, of cause - and get an error. I've tried to do it on other computer with Nero 8 and there it says about copyright protection - but my files doesn't have any DRM protection - I've checked it in Windows 7 explorer (Tab "protected" - value - "No"). Other versions - Nero 9 and Nero 10 say "can not add file to project" or something like that. So for now I will wait Nero support, and I have to decompress each file to .wav and only then burn - it's really unhandy... :)

It's only been a month since Apple released the codec without the need for royalty payments so hang in there. The copyright issue would come up in the previous versions, just for this reason.
