I had Nero 7 before and I can't seem to burn DVD's anymore. I tried burning CD's and it went just fine.

Thinking that it was because of cheap DVD's, I bought others, Verbatim, Panasonic DVD-R's. I still get the error. One time, I was able to write around 1.5 GB of photos in multi-session. Burning another session on that same DVD game me a write error.

Getting desperate, I upgraded to 11. So I tried to burn a DVD with the new Nero 11. I successfully burned on my DVD twice (multisession) around 3GB. And then I tried burning for the third time on the same DVD and I got the error "Burn process failed". Tried 4x and 8x. I tried other DVD's and I now get the same error.

I'm on Win 7, 4GB memory, I still have 4+GB of free space in my HD. My DVD Writer is an LG GH22LS50 (http://www.lg.com/hk/it-product/optical-storage/LG-GH22LS50.jsp)

Here's the log. Are all my DVD's bad? Is my burner already dying?

This is a media problem.
You should try other brands of media or lower writer speed.
It could also be, that your writer is maladjusted or defect - so, if different media does not help, you could also try another writer.

Greetings, Jens

I agree with Jens-f. I think you should lower your burn speed to 4x or lower first.

I've always used 4x. I just tried 8x if there's going to be a difference but seems that my DVD Burner is busted..... With CD's it can. Thanks for your inputs!

Hi.
I have resolved this issue by turning off and on my drive. odd but...it works! ;)

(Perhaps your and my driver are not *fully* compatible with OS. ok with sp1 Vista, bad with SP2. I hope that my workaround will work for you too ;)

RHM-kun- most DVDs are rated for 1x-4x and the log said it was trying the burn at 16x. Some manufacturers claim very high DVD burn speeds but they don't tell you that, to achieve them, you have to use a specific brand and, I suspect, type of DVD.
