My Nero experience has been nothing but a nightmare. Nero Vision only works properly when it wants too, constantly crashes, manual is extremely inaccurate, support ignored most of my questions. They did send me a link to upgrade my version, the file is only 1.3 GB and it's taking 27 hours to dl, this is DAY THREE of the dl and it's only half way through, and I have internet speeds of 112 mbs per second. I think I'll just toss this worthless program out and go buy Video Pad, which is so simple to use a monkey can do, practically have to have a degree in Rocket Science to figure out Nero. The older versions of Nero were super simplistic so why all this new, complicated stuff?

Hi Kryll,

Which Nero version do you have?

You should be able to download all Nero installer from the website:

http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-previous...ap.......R10701

In some cases ,there could be the problem with the download server.

You can try to download and installer from that link above.

Nero also offers FAQs, manuals and tutorials in Technical Support Database

http://www.nero.com/enu/support/

You can contact Technical Support using the direct e-mail address: techsupport@nero.com.
Alternatively, you can also get in touch via the chat line first.

Best regarards,

Nero Multimedia Suite Platinum 10 HD Tech support only answers back when they feel like it, usually takes 4-5 days if they decide to answer back. Major server problems, this is a joke, "installer" didn't help.

There's definitely something wrong. My service is only 7 Mb/sec and I can download each of the updates from the referenced link in less than half an hour. I find that the Nero sites give me the fastest download speeds of any site I ever go to.

We don't know the questions you asked tech support or their responses. Perhaps you'll post them in the appropriate subforum and let us take a crack at them.

I assume you did a completely new download.

If you have the same problems after installing and updating it, please post the problems in the appropriate subforum.

Spoke too soon, dl gets to a few seconds remaining and just stops and freezes, cannot complete the dl.

How long did you wait when it stopped? I suggest giving it 3 or 4 minutes.

Tried three times, waited 15-20 minutes after each dl. I don't know if the file is corrupted or what?

Damn! You're not having any fun. No wonder you're frustrated.

I've had some downloads for other products which apparently are downloaded either into memory or a temporary folder (like Nero). After they are downloaded, they are then copied to the specified folder and that takes a little time (I assume your saving the .exe to your hard drive). 15-20 minutes is far too long for Nero unless your system is short on hard drive space or the hard drive is severly fragmented.

I've been doing these downloads since version 8 and never encountered the problem you're having. In fact, v12 is a much smaller download than previous versions. That brings to mind something else. You said the download is 1.3 Mb. The actual download of the .exe installation file shouldn't be any larger than about 700-800 Mb since CoverDesigner, SoundTrax and WaveEditor aren't included. The content pack is usually downloaded as an update (or is expanded during installation). In fact, the trial version is only 300 Mb. That's what you should be downloading. Are you downloading something else?

The file size is 1.3 GB, it's the latest, updated, full version of Nero 10 HD, defragged my drive like a month ago so it's not that, plus I have over 360 gigs of free space on my drive so I don't know what the problem is. File has to be corrupted, support hasn't answered me in 2 days.

Please ignore my reference to v12 in my last post. I forgot we're dealing with v10.

Instead of downloading the Platinum update. Download the standard v10 update. It's only 368 Mb.

Uninstall Nero MultiMedia Suite 10 from Control Panel.

Install the standard update. Insert your Platinum serial number during the installation. Run the check for updates and install them. I don't think you'll have to download and install the Content Pack separately.

The only other option I can think of if you still want to try to download the Platinum is to use a different browser.

Was able to download it using IE, don't know why Firefox wouldn't finish the dl, thanks for the idea. Attempting to install, wish me luck.

I'm glad it worked. Were you able to run the check for updates using IE?

It may be that you needed to delete the browsing history in Firefox or run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility and reboot to delete temporary files and the recycle bin.
