Then I think you should consider uninstalling all those extra codecs. There have been instances with Nero (as well as other video editing programs) where additional codecs interfere.
There are also instances where other video editing programs have interfered with Nero. Do you have any other such programs? |

I have uninstalled the codecs and still the same error pops up and I don't think any other program would interfere with Nero 11. Do you have any examples that would cause an interference with the program? I have AVS, avidemux, windows movie maker, TMPGenc converters/editing software though, but these programs haven't really ever caused an issue with Nero 11. I'm reinstalling the codecs to check whether the burn will work...

If you go to control panel, default programs, associate a file......, which program is associated with .avi. If it's not Kwik Media, I suggest changing it to Kwik Media.
Run msconfig.exe. In the Services tab, checkmark the box "hide all Microsoft....". Checkmark the box "disable...". In the Services tab, checkmark the box "disable all...". Reboot. Try a burn. Whether or not this is successful, immediately run msconfig.exe and uncheck all those boxes and reboot. |

try uninstalling avidemux and TMP.... After you do, run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility from Accessories and reboot.

Last gasp for me.
go to control panel, system, advanced....., performance, settings. In DEP, checkmark "turn on......", then click on Add. Browse to the NV .exe file and add it. Reboot. Does that help? |

Did tech support ask you to provide a nerosupport.cab file? Did they actually say that they can't fix the problem? If they did, they would normally offer you a refund. If they didn't say they can't fix it, then I think you should go back to them.
I'm in a hurry this morning because I'm getting ready to travel. I would restore your DEP settings to the default and remove NV from the exceptions since that should only be used in the worst scenario. We can talk about it later. |

I would also like to know if you found a solution. I spent hours working on a slideshow and when I went to burn it, I got the same error. I tried everything. I ended up importing it into Nero Vision 10 and burning it from there. The result wasn't as good, but I was able to meet the deadline of a sweet 5 year old's birthday. Thank goodness I got a discount on Nero 11 Platinum as I am totally dissatisfied. I have used Nero for years and have never been disappointed until now. Wish I hadn't upgraded! Please let me know if you have found a solution.

You should send an e-mail to tech support. It's common in this forum for people not to post a fix, when they get one. Perhaps you'll post a fix.
