Hello,
I receive "Browse For Folder", "Please select [A336631F-46FE-436E-9AF6-C99581F1B229-1] to continue with restore." Can I restore/recover my files I backed up originally using BackItUp 10 and after formatting my hard drive and reinstalling my operating system (windows 7), can I retrieve my files using the same BackItUp 10 program? I used the last disc first, which it prompted me to do so and it recognizes it as the proper disc. I select the "green right arrow" to advance to step 2. I have tried both options, restore to original path and restore to customized path. I've used both preserve original directory structure and browsed to select a specific destination. Still I get the "Browse For Folder" popup box. I noticed within the contents of my last backed up disc that there is a "NB" text document with only A336631F-46FE-436E-9AF6-C99581F1B229-11 on it, the same as what the "Browse For Folder" option wants me to select. There's a ReadMe text document file within the disc as well that says "This disc is part of a backup created with Nero BackItUp. etc." Hope these details are enough to get me any kind of answers that could resolve restoring my backup files. Thanks so much for any assistance |

There shouldn't be any problems using v10 to restore your backups.
Are there any operating system files in the backup? Normally tech support says to select the drive (for instance D:\) rather than a specific folder when these problems come up. |

Hello Wither,
Thanks for responding...No there aren't any system files within the backup. It is only music on the backups. I tried selecting the C: drive and it just pops back with the original "Browse For Folder" box. I've selected different folders within C:, for instance "Users", "My Music," which is where I had the music files before I backed them. Any further suggestions? |

That's correct, wither.
It's always good if a topic was started in the forum and also ends here with the solution. This helps other users who have the same or a similar problem, too. Best regards, GyroGearloose. |
