I recommend that you contact tech support by e-mail. If you do, please post a response. In the system requirements, it says it needs- Glibc 2.3.6 and libstdc++6 4.1.1 (or higher)

Hi easgs,
I will point to the same information that wither provided. As indicated in our web page under "system requirements" http://www.nero.com/enu/linux4-system-requirements.html libstdc++6 4.1.1 (or higher) needs to be installed. Install this library and then you should be able to install Nero Linux 4. Best regards, Infohelp |

Hello Infohelp,
Nero tells me: nothing provides libstdc++>3.4.3 needed by nerolinux-3.5.31.1-i386" but on the system (OpenSuSE 11.4 32bit) is libstdc++45 (version 4.5.1_20101208-9.8) installed. Is there the need to install exactly the version 3.4.3 or is there is mistake in the program? (or another reason?) (nerolinux 4.0.0.0-1 needs libstdc++>=4.1.1 installed v. 4.5.1) Thank you very much in advance. Best regards, Olaf-G |

Same problem with OpenSUSE 11.4 64bit.
I installed both libstd++ libraries and tried with both Nero Versions (32 and 64 bit) . Is anyone running Nero under SuSE 11.4? Probably a symlnk in libstdc++ could be the solution? thx for Help |

Each person should submit their problem to tech support by e-mail. Get the getsupportfiles utility at nero.com and after running it, attach the resulting nerosupport.cab file to the e-mail. I assume the utility will work with Linux.

Dear all!
Sorry for stepping into this thread so late. This is a general problem, caused by renaming the library by openSuSE - a renaming that has not been implemented into the Nero Linux installation package. We are working on this issue and hope to be able to publish a corrected package soon. In meantime, please install the package using the shell (with root access) with Pangrys' command. This will not run the dependencies check. One little change: -U will update the package, whereas most peopled trying to install Nero Linux 4 most probably want to install it. Therefore please use this command: rpm -ivh --nodeps nerolinux-[your_version].rpm Of course you should make sure before that the normal dependencies (GTK+2) are solved. Please excuse the inconveniences. The Practical Pig This post has been edited by PracticalPigCH: Apr 5 2011, 01:32 PM |

Hello Pangry,
This in my case (x86_64) installs whole thing, but when trying to run it, can't recognize any RW devices except imageWrite... Otherway following "Lastique's" -opensuse forum- suggestion solves, (sort off) the problem, but also do not forget that after zypper install and dependencies braking, somebody must run nero with su privileges so nero can find RW devices ;-) , at least that happens to me under OpenSUSE v11.4 x86_64... Its buggie up today... hope Nero understands that has to be back soon (already are late), with a FREE update to all of us registered users Solutions Read in console. rpm -Uvh --nodeps nerolinux-[your_version].rpm This post has been edited by botsgr: Jul 9 2011, 07:09 PM |

Dear all,
for all Nero Linux version it can be necessary to define or edit the device files before being able to use the burner. A description how to do that is available at: http://ftp6.nero.com/user_guides/linux4/NeroLinux_Eng.pdf (chapter 2.2, starting at page 7) Although this refers to the manual of Nero Linux 4, this description is valid for all Nero Linux versions. Hope that helps The Practical Pig |
