I'm stumped. My PC has both Nero 9 and 11 installed. Nero 11 just refuses to burn a DVD with general data files, using either Burning ROM or Express. However, same PC, same stack of blank media, ALWAYS works with Nero 9 (Burning ROM or Express). Log file is attached. Ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Tried Nero 11 Express at 4x. Good.
Tried Nero 11 Express at 8x. Good. Tried Nero 11 Express at 16x. GOOD -- FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. Only thing I changed was selecting the optional box for "Determine Maximum Transfer Rate" How could that possibly affect the outcome? I've lost about 15 discs (not burned) going between Nero 9 and Nero 11 trying to figure this out, does that box actually matter so much on 11? Thanks in advance, Curt |

Yes, but does it work at 4x, 8x and 16x if you don't check that box?
Working in the forum, I have noticed that v10 and v11 seem to be more sensitive to the status of the drivers and firmware for drives. It never hurts to make sure you are using the latest and greatest. Of course, if you're using a laptop, you should look for updates to those things at the vendors support site. |
