With my LG TV came the mediahome essentials disk. I installed it on my computer that had a Vista operating system. It worked fine....until I restarted my computer. Thankfully I had performed a system restore prior to installing and was able to get my computer back to normal. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling and that didn't work. I figured that there was probably a glitch in my system and didn't bother with it. My husband has now taken over my Vista computer and I bought a new one that came with Win7. I installed mediahome essentials and it worked fine....until I restarted my computer! What is happening is that on bootup Windows won't load, it just hangs on the welcome screen (same as on my on the Vista). I even left it for a couple of hours while I went out and nothing changed. I can't even log into Windows under safe mode. Thankfully I did a system restore and so all is well, but it's a little disappointing in that it seems that if I want to use Nero that I can never turn off my computer otherwise I will never be able to log back into my computer. I could understand if it didn't work on one computer, but on two computers?
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. |

Try this-
Make sure you set a system restore point before reinstalling NMHome. With NMHome installed, run msconfig.exe. In the Services tab, checkmark the box "hide all Microsoft..." and then checkmark the box to disable all services. Under the Startup tab, checkmark the box to disable all Startup items. Reboot. If you still have the problem, do a system restore. Whether or not it works, immediately run msconfig.exe again and return everything back to normal and reboot. |
