Nero 10, Windows 7, Acer-Aspire5446 Laptop.
Audio Input Line on the Nero Wave Editor recording console only shows one source [Master Volume]. I am used to choosing inputs such as Mic, or Wave, or Line-In on other PCs.[all with XP Pro]. I am trying to record any sounds that are being heard on the laptop speakers. i.e. internal source from whatever is being outputed from the computer. Instead of recording the aove it is recording the ambient sound in the room. apparently picked up from the mic. even though no mic is plugged into the mic jack. On other computers I would just set the Audio Input Choice to "Wave" if I recall correctly. I am trying to disable this mikeless mic [internal] function. But remember, [mic] is not one of the input choices. Where is the old "wave" option? What's up with this? Is this a Nero Issue or a Acer one? Any competent help greatly appreciated. thanks |

My answer is based on Nero 11 Wave Editor, so I'm not sure it's correct for V10, but I find "Wave mapper" under Menu "Options" -- "Device settings".
Is it correct ? Does it solve ? Regards Adriano |

If you have a web cam installed, Nero may be picking up the audio from it's microphone. You could try disabling it just to check it out.

Hi socotosh,
What did you select under "Options" - "device settings"? Make sure that you select Wave there. There is a difference in the recording options between Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7 In Windows XP the sound card is seen as one device. Therefore, selecting a device will allow you to access all input options in the Recording Console window. In Windows Vista and Windows 7 every input option is seen as a separate device. Therefore, the sound card input option must first be selected in the Device Settings window. After that, the Master Volume entry in the Recording Console window represents the input device selected in the Device Settings window. |
