Hello,

I have imported a DVD file (VTS_01_1.VOB) into Nero Vision and it breaks the video down into a series of segments instead of one continuous stream of video. The video is a studio produced (1981) music video, so the audio track is critical and has to be totally in sync with the video. I am working on the transitions between the segments, and in some cases it appears that a hard "cut" from segment to segment will work best. But I do not see an option for this type of transition, other than set time to 0:00 secs, which is only somewhat successful.

Is there a way to hard cut from segment to segment for both audio and video?

The problem with some of the other transitions is that in some cases the audio drops out or clashes with the next segment audio, the transition is not smooth.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You should import the vts_..vob file (s).

If you have the DVD, I would import the disc, if v4.9.6 allows that.

OK, I gave that a try and it worked pretty well. I did notice a pretty high level of tape noise or "audio hiss" as the video got going until the audio (music) track covered it up, but of course it was still there underneath. Also at the very bottom of picture there was kind of a line of distorted video. Is there any way to clean this up a bit?

The audio is not going into Nero as a separate track, so I cannot isolate on an audio track. I was thinking that maybe I could apply some equalization or filtering to the embedded audiio track to reduce the tape noise. But not sure if this is possible.

Thanks for your help,

I don't think this applies to v7 but, if you click on Export, do you get an option to Export the Audio to file? If you do, you can export the audio to file and then apply hiss and noise reduction in WaveEditor. You can then bring that file back into Vision on the audio track 1.

OK excellent. I will try it on the next song. I have tried 2x now to upload the track so you can hear what I am talking bout but it does not upload correctly.

Thanks,

You don't need to upload the track. It wouldn't do me much good since I don't have v7. You didn't say if you have the Export Audio to File option.
