since I accepted the nero9 update for windows 7 64bit version the nero wave editor on my computer no longer works properly.
1. the opened mp3 file is always incompletely loaded if it is large, a recording of 6 hours is shortened to become 3hours and 22 minutes. Therefore half the recording is not loaded, & therefore lost irretrievably forever. 2. The original bitrate of the recording (in this case 128kbps) is no longer the default when saving a file after editing and i manually have to navigate a lengthy menu to re-select the original bitrate, stereo/mono, variable or not, etc.what a waste of time and effort when you can not set a default for a set of repeated tasks! 3. before applying the nero9 update for 64bit windows7 I NEVER had ANY issues with opening, editing and saving large file size recordings for years. It was actually fun to work with the wave editor and discover it's features. This is no longer the case for me. 4. before i wipe my hd and restore a backup with my nero9 prior to the update, and all the other related inconvenient tasks that will bring about, I am asking if there is ANYONE at nero or on this forum who knows of a workaround, fix, or technique to fix the nero9 waveditor or to roll back the update for nero9 for windows7 64bit? (there is no rollback option in the windows program uninstall/change/install for nero9 settings or windows control panel) When I uninstalled nero9 and reinstalled it I got the message that nero9 was not properly installed and another message about not having administrator privilages therefore I could not even re-install nero9. However I am The Administrator on this computer and there are no other user accounts so it is patently ridiculous to refuse me access to a program I installed from a cd-rom on my own computer with the correct serial number. All I have accomplished was to restore nero9 using the convenient windows restore utility..... (arghhhhhhh!) |

I have the same issue. Recorded a complete album of approximately 40 minutes. When recording box closed, wave editor only shows 23+minutes of the recording. I had the issue with Nero 9 and decided to upgrade to Nero 11 to avoid the issue. However, same issue with Nero 9. I am recording at the highest bit rate the program allows. Could that be part of the issue?

My recommendation is to send an e-mail to tech support on this one. If you do, please let us know their response.

Just for S&G:
1. I inserted a ~48 minute stereo MP3 podcast into WaveEditor twice and saved it as a new file. Length 88 Mb, duration ~96 minutes. 2. I inserted the file from step 1 into WaveEditor three times and saved the result as a new file. Length 265 Mb, duration ~290 minutes. 3. I inserted the file from step 2 into WaveEditor twice and saved the result as a new file. Length 531 Mb, duration ~580 minutes. The files all play in WMP, QT, iTunes, and KM. When opened in WaveEditor, the ~580 minute file insert is truncated at ~174 minutes. The others are not truncated. I repeated step 3 and checked back more often (commercial breaks!). I caught it at 252% done! I also paid more attention before exiting WaveEditor and noticed that the displayed waveform had a~174 minute duration. So, it already knew! Since step 2 also creates a file with a duration of more than 174 minutes, I repeated it to see if it sailed past 100% done. I caught it passing 500%! However, when it was finished, the displayed waveform was ~580 minutes. The recordings are 44.1 kHz, 16 bits, stereo if that matters. I am using an up to date Nero 11 suite on Windows XP Professional, SP3. |

Seems to me that at least a form of this problem was discussed in another thread and it was submitted to tech support. Surprised it hasn't been resolved yet since that's been a while.

wither:
You may be remembering the original topic of this thread dated April 7, 2012. In any case, as far as I know, there have been no updates to any Nero 11 sub-systems except KM since February 27, 2012. I have attached a list of the executables on my computer. Here are some quotes of Nero employees to me: 20120322 Nero Recode (latest .exe dated 20120207) "I have now provide those information and your file to our developer so that they can reprocude this issue also and hopefully find the answer to this wierd behavior of Nero Recode. " 20120229 Nero SoundTrax (latest .exe dated 20111026, original report 20120214, No Menubar) "The problem in Nero SoundTrax is currently under investigation. We are working at full speed on a solution to this problem and will implement it in a future update. Sadly we have no means of offering a patch or a workaround to solve the problem in the meantime. We will inform you per e-mail as soon as the update is available. " 20120530 Nero Video (latest .exe dated 20120119, original report 20120118 Errors encoding a single picture) "This issue has already been reported officially and is being looked at by the developers. Unfortunately, I can't tell you when they will provide a fix... Just wanted to let you know that somebody's taking care of it ;-)" There are numerous examples in these forums, such as: http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=69815 http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=69888 Surprised? Now, I guess it's up to the cartoon characters!

My how time flies. I think that all the fixes are going to be made in v12 which I expect sometime around the release of Win 8 in around October. Perhaps it will be a v11 update.
