Hello,
I have had Nero 9 installed on my laptop (Windows Vista Home Premium) for quite some time. I recently installed Windows 7 on another HDD partition on the same laptop. How do I get Nero to run on both operating systems? I do not suppose that I would be able to download it to the Windows 7 partition?
I want to go back and forth between OS (I still like Vista!) and be able to use Nero on whichever one I am using at the time.

Thank you,
Eric

Hi ericeholtz- haven't seen you for a long time.

It seems to me that you can use the same copy of Nero on a dual boot machine.

You could either ask at the chat line or just download the update and use your serial number and see what happens. I know it will install but am not quite sure about the patent activations.

I also like Vista better. If I was going to upgrade, I'd go directly to Win 8. Fresh up today, Microsoft has extended the period for security updates to 10 years- http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/microsoft-q...ws-7-vista/4529

Hello wither, I've been engaged in various pursuits and thus, not here much.
So I should just try to download the Nero 9 update into Windows 7 and then enter my license number? Should Nero run "better" in the 64-bit Windows 7 OS than in Vista, or does it matter? I have taken both Wave Editor and Vision to the processing limit of 32 bit Vista with extensive editing. I like Vista for my daily computing, but I need 64 bit to more adequately run the audio and video software.
What does the end of Vista support mean for us users?

I don't think it matters whether you run in Vista or Win 7. I run v9 and v11 in vista and v10 and v11 in Win 7. No noticeable difference. 64 bit Vista or Win 7 gives you the ability to use more than 4 Gb of RAM which is better for video encoding provided you have a GPU and CPU that meets the requirements of v9.

Yes, just install v9 with your serial number.

The end of Vista support means that they will no longer provide updates relative to the operating system or entertain problems. They will only update for security issues, which is primarily all we get these days.
