I'm using version 11.2.10300.0.0 of Nero Express on Windows 7 (64-bit). While trying to burn an audio CD, if I receive a burn error the CD/DVD drive remains locked even after closing Nero Express. A reboot of the machine is required to remove the CD. This is very annoying. What process is keeping the drive locked and why?
If I try to eject the drive by selecting "eject" from the right-click menu in Windows Explorer, a dialog stating "An error occurred while ejecting 'BD-ROM Drive (H:)'" |

Do you have the burn options set to verify the disc after burning?

As wither has stated about verify, it sounds to me very much like the program is in the process of verification and there is an error on reading the media and thus reported it but the routine has not been released the drive. Did you keep a copy of the LOG file or did you observe the process report which possible stated that the BURN was successful. An screen image at the time the error occurred would have been helpful. Then there is the possibility of copyright, 'Audio CD', but I would have thought you would not have reached the point of verification. |
