Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD - General Installation Notes

If you have Nero Multimedia Suite 10 installed, follow the instructions in A. If you have installed a standalone version like Nero Essentials, Nero Vision Xtra, Nero Video Premium HD, Nero Burning ROM, Nero BurnExpress or Nero BackItUp &Burn, follow B.

A. From any version of Nero Multimedia Suite 10:

You do not need to download the software again to activate the full version of Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD, but it could be necessary to update your current version in order to use the Serial Number you have purchased, to do so:

1. Have your serial number ready. Your serial number is located in your email confirmation. Close all Microsoft Windows® programs and exit any anti-virus software that may be running

2. Open the Nero ControlCenter by clicking on Windows Start > Programs > Nero > Nero 10 > Nero ControlCenter. On the left-hand side, Click on “Update”. The Nero ControlCenter will switch to the Update tab. Click on “Check for updates”.

3. In some cases the message “Nero Update needs to be updated” is shown. If this is the case click on “Update now”. Otherwise continue with step 4. If during the update process the update service isn’t available anymore please close the Nero ControlCenter and repeat step 2.

4. If updates are listed, please click on “Update now” to start the process. Reboot in case you are prompted to do so. After rebooting your machine repeat step 2. In case no updates are available, continue with step 5.

5. Now open Nero ControlCenter again, in order to enter your new serial number, switch to the respective tab by clicking on “Serial numbers” on the left-hand side.

6. Start the wizard by clicking on “Add”, enter your serial number and follow the steps to complete the procedure.

7. If Nero Control Center detects that an additional installer is needed, related to the new features, a specific download will be offered. At this point, do not click on the "Next" button, click on the "Download" button. By clicking on “Download” the procedure is started and a new window will open from where you can start the installation of the necessary packages. Start the installation by clicking "Run" and follow the process.

In case you don't see the new Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD features listed during the upgrade process, please remove your Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD Serial Number in Nero Control Center. Then continue with step 6.

The Nero Creative CollectionPack 1 includes the following items:

• Nero 10 Movie ThemePack 3
• Nero 10 Movie ThemePack 4
• Nero PIP EffectPack 1
• Nero Video TransitionPack 1

8. Once the installation procedure is finished click on "Close". Nero ControlCenter will close automatically.

9. Close all windows and restart your computer to activate the changes.

PLEASE NOTE: To make sure that the features purchased with the Plug-In are accessible, it is important that this step is performed correctly. In case you encounter any issues after the automatic download dialog is displayed, it could be necessary to reload the additional packages manually. B. If you have installed a standalone version like Nero Essentials, Nero Vision Xtra, Nero Video Premium HD, Nero Burning ROM, Nero BurnExpress or Nero BackItUp & Burn:

To successfully implement all features and enhancements, we recommend performing a clean installation, which requires you to first uninstall your current Nero version.

1. Uninstall your Nero Products using the “Add or Remove Programs” or the “Programs and Features” utility, respectively, if you are using Windows XP or Vista/Windows 7 operating systems. To access these utilities, go to: Start>> Control Panel>> “Add or Remove Programs” or “Programs and Features.”

2.Look for your product (Nero Vision Xtra, Nero Burning ROM, Nero Burn Express, Nero BackItUp & Burn, Nero Video Premium HD etc.) and select it to uninstall it. This will begin the de-installation process and automatically remove the selected product from your system.
Close all windows and restart your computer to activate the changes.

To install Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD please follow these steps:

1. Have your serial number ready. Your serial number is located in your email confirmation. Close all Microsoft Windows® programs and exit any anti-virus software that may be running.

2. Download Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD from the link provided in your email confirmation and save to your desktop.

3. Start the installation by double-clicking on the setup file. Follow prompt to install any required files. (Process may require a reboot to your PC after required files are installed. After rebooting the installation will resume automatically.)

4. When you see the screen that says Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Nero Vision Xtra, click “Next.”

5. You will be asked for your serial number during the installation. If a default serial number is displayed, please replace it with your personal serial number. Click “Next”.

6. Read the End User License Agreement, and then click, “I accept the License Agreement”. (If you decline the End User License Agreement, the installation will not continue.) Click “Next”.

7. Select one of the following installation types:

• Complete - All programs will be installed. This is recommended for most users.
• Custom - Choose which program features you want installed, and the path to where they will be installed. This is recommended for advanced users.

8. Click “Install” and follow the process.
At the end of the Custom installation process, you will be given the option to modify your settings again. You may check the boxes for creating desktop icons or the option for Nero to perform file associations for your multimedia files. Select your new settings.

9. Click “Finish” to complete the installation.

10. Your Nero icons will appear on the desktop of your computer after installation. Double-click the Nero StartSmart icon to access all applications organized by task. Or go directly to the Product by clicking its icon.

11. Simply enjoy!

Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD can run concurrently on a single system along with Nero 9 and Nero 8, without needing to uninstall these previous versions of Nero. However, earlier versions of Nero may not run concurrently with Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD.
