I've lost Nero 10 serial number. What should I do?

As the title says, I have managed to loose the serial number for my Nero. As I need to re-install the program on my computer, I've contacted the local dealer from which I have bought this program. They have suggested me to contact Nero and ask them to provide me a new serial key.
As I know that this is not an easy operation, I have done some research on the internet and I have discovered that there are some serial number recovery methods for different programs. Wonder, if this is possible with Nero, too?
Also, do you have other ideas on how I can find my key for nero?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am using Nero 10.

If you still have the system, where nero is installed, no special recovery tool is needed - just start the nero control center - it displays you the serial number.

If not: Have you registered your copy at mynero? Then you can see your serial-number in your profile.

If all this does not help: Have you bought an retail-box or a download version (serial only)?

If you haven't reinstalled Windows, your serial number is probably still in the registry. As such, when you reinstall v10, it should find it automatically.

Hello all :)

hannahmyles7, some time ago Nero had simple tool to recover serial: http://ftp6.nero.com/Nero-SerialFinder.zip It worked with Nero 6, 7, 8, 9. Do not know about 10 version.

However seems file is deleted or moved to other location, so i uploaded it here.

If it won't help - you may need to use tools like http://www.nsauditor.com/product_key_finder.html (it will find Nero 10 serial).

If you haven't reinstalled Windows, your serial number is probably still in the registry. As such, when you reinstall v10, it should find it automatically.

Is also decent way to recover serial :)

Plus it is always good to backup serial, order data and install file.


* I could give you my own commercial Nero 10 serial, but unfortunately commercial license is not for re-sale :)

All the members are right, there are many ways to find your Nero 10 serial number but we are unable to provide you a new code as we now do not sell Nero 10 any more.

Please check the points below to find your Nero 10 serial number:

1. You have registered your copy of Nero
2. Nero 10 is still installed on your system
3. Nero 10 is not installed on your system. You own a Nero 10 box version


1. You have registered your copy of Nero
Login to the following website using your registered e-mail address and your password:
http://my.nero.com
Click the "My Profile" tab and then the "Serial" entry.
-> The "Registered Nero serials" window will open.
Click the "Display" link behind the product name of the registered serial number.
-> Your serial number will be displayed.


2. Nero 10 is still installed on your system
You can find the serial number in the registry.
Please proceed as follows:
Click Start to open the Windows XP or Vista start menu.
->Select Run from the menu
-> The Run window will open.
Enter "regedit" in the "Open" text field and click the "OK" button.
-> The Registry Editor window will open.
You will find your serial number on the left side in the navigation tree.

On 32bit-systems please follow the path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nero\Shared\NL10

On 64bit-systems please follow the path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Nero\Shared\NL10

-> Your serial number is displayed next to the "Serial10" entry. It is structured as follows:
xXxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Write down your serial number.


3. Nero 10 is not installed on your system. You own a Nero 10 box version
You can find the serial number for the Nero 10 retail version on the inside cover of the Nero DVD case.
