Using nero express to do the work of nero Smart?

Thats definitely a downgrade.

Since this entire forum lacks a suggestion box and theres a specific place for nearly all the tools nero includes but the smart center - as if developers are so afraid to hear how lousy their job on it was that they don't even want to let users talk about it on their own forums.

I don't mind nero being everything to everybody tough we all know that always fails miserably.

Developers forget that Nero started out as a software for cd burning and should consider to finish the job properly before they move on making it wash your socks and iron your shirts.

Many people still care only about the burning rom and associated features.

The new nero smart center is awful. The old one had all the features spread nice and tidy. And the new one is just a bunch of text and logos and no real work done.

When you chose a function in the old nero smart all the chosing was done and all you had to do is either add your files or click to finish whatever operation you have chosen, not to mention it had a skinmode and did NOT take half your screen displaying 70% of nothing to be used.

And why the hell have nero burning rom, nero express only for burning? Is there no talent in the nero team that they need to make 2 different interfaces instead of 1 descent good enough to be used by any user.

I hope somebody is thinking on things like that because we have all seen before what pushing half-finished material on the market does. And it would be a shame for a Nero to lose the name it has worked so long to get and join the legions of developers offering dubious software.

Try not to forget that the software you make is targeted at pleasing the users not your designers.

And no this isnt one man flaming ...

You should be smart enough to find polls showing the opinions of the people using the new smart center.

I hope the upcoming neros are worth their money more than sarting animations when you click the shortcut.

Not to mention all the Nero "Lite" packages that are popping up. - Users went all the way to repack the software, if that doesn't speak for it self dunno what does.
We can understand trying to market new creations of the Nero company under the same name but giving NO alternatives is bad.

And we all know that the extra features can be worked out as plugins, so you want only burning software - fine you get a bare bone nero... You want nero smart or cover designer you get the plugin in question.

But hey keep it the way it is and see how many people stop paying for the 3gb package of 20mb actual code they need and just go download it off the web.
