Muliple copies of photos on Kwit

I have put all my photos together in Nero and now I have upto 10 copies of the one photo. Transferred photosfrom my Microsoft Pictures - and nearly all I had 0n Picasa3. Now just secured Nero Platimun11 - I cannot find how to delete - all help appreciated. Thanks

Are you talking about Kwik Media. If so, you should have posted in that forum.

How did you transfer the photos from the respective folders?

Don't delete photos from Kwik Media. They will be erased on your system.

The proper way to include media in Kwik Media is to open the Library and click on Add. Then browse to the folder containing your photos and add it to the library. To remove media from Kwik Media, remove the folder from the Library.

I just turned 78YO and not 100% alert.

I just transferred my files directly to Kwik Media and now I have over 29,000 photos. All the edites and using crop in Piscaca3 all my work (edit) for nearly 36 months have finished on Kwik Media. I reasoned I could go through them all and delete what is not wanted.

Should have done this on Piscaca which is a program I understand and is a good one as your aware run by Google. Anyhow I now find I cannot delete individual photos I not need.(and there are hundreds)

Can I transferred them back to Piscaca if so - all will be OK. If I knew beforehand this issue was going to happen I would have forgot about Nero Platimun11 as it's only photos I am interested in. Anyhow not to have a windge and will work things out with help in the forum. I know if I pay attention is will work out OK when I get help and set things up properly. It's a challange and will keep my mind active. Thank U wither!

When viewing your photo files in Kwik Media, you can just click on a photo and then right click and select Delete. To select more than one at a time, just use Shift and then click on each photo you don't want and then right click and select Delete.

As I noted before, when you delete a file in Kwik Media, it is deleted from your computer.

Yes I knew that long ago. Highlight the photo or string - right click and delete is there - or transfer.

First the Kwit Media program to do this must first go to the source where they came from - as I said I have photos on disk - sticks and endless cut and paste where I emptied my photos link on Microsoft - then most from Piscaca3.

I could delete - move - make new files - transfer - I come aboard with Nero11 and update to Nero Platimun11 - and now it looks I have lost all my edits and work going back three years. As of now all my photos are stagnant/tied up in Nero. Biggest mistake I have made doing this - I believed all programs work similiar, cost me $Aus120 to do this. at least 90% of my photos clamped down in Nero Plat~~~~11. Never had a problem with Piscaca3 and one get's that free.

Surely there there is a solution to retrive my photos since being a baby - plus my wife Helena and five children and 13 grandchildren also four G/Grandchildren photos over the years.

Is there any point in trying KwitMedia? I reason they can do no more then what U have advised wither. It's my fault that I do know - when I get the time I will try the library - but the 'SOURCE' is needed.

I am the Sec of the Professional Boxing Ring Officials here in NSW and the reason I came aboard here - was to get all the photos involving fights into files/albums. Must be something that can be done to get up and running -

You shouldn't have lost any of your edits. I assume we are talking about photographs in formats like .jpg, .tiff, etc. I mean, KM isn't going to change your photographs unless you want it to.

I still don't know how you got your photos into Kwik Media. If you use drag and drop, KM will just display the file but not retain it. You said copy and paste but I don't know how you do that in Kwik Media. If that's what you did then the original photos would be still on the original discs, sticks, etc. Would you explain in simple terms how you got the photos from the original sources into Kwik Media. I need details.

Assuming you don't have any of the original files, what you can do, is use KM to create a slide show with the photographs that you want to keep. You can then go to Nero Video from Kwik Media and then save the photos that you want to your hard disc using the Nero Video camera. Obviously, you could also burn the slide show to disc but it would be DVD-Video format (which you could also import into Nero Video and save the photos).

No I haven't lost any of the data or edits looking through nero11, everything is there and as your aware locked- I seemingly cannot move or delete what I want to do. Frozen! Now to let it all thaw out and get started. I will keep Picasa as a standby - I need to delete the muliple photos somehow out of Nero11. Pity is wasn't enforced the only way to get photos into Nero was the library feature. Picasa3 one can move folders and browse where I wanted them to finish click on Nero11 and it the folders are moved there. This paragraph has been edited - to give a description how it was done. Moving folders. Just checked it out and there are over 23,000 muliple photos there now in Nero11. Doubles to ten copies of the one photo.

You asked the question how did I get the photos into nero11 in the first place. (I never used the library feature.) I used Picasa3 folder transfer. I would put all my photos into different folders in Pisaca3 and the folders would be listed at the left of the screen. I would click on a folder I intended to move - r/click move folder - screen would come up browse folder, and there listed was Nero 11, clicked there, click again to remove from Picasa3 to Nero11. The whole folder went go straight to Nero11.

Included all my edits. I was also was a director of a large legal service and at conferences spent most of my time taking photos of the people in attendance from all over NSW. I also have done a family tree and secured photos from different people on the 'tree' going back 35 years. My life is drawing to a close and that explains as to why I reasoned it would be in my interests to try out this new program Nero 11 upgraded to Platinum11. Not all is lost and given time it will work out with your advice.

Doing this is all new to me. Should of studied the Nero online handbook first and used the library feature - still it would have been folders I would have transferred - I trust my reply hasn't confused you wither.

What is needed is to be able to edit the muliple copies of the photos and keep the one needed which was edited. No delete feature had stumped me. As I said it's all new to me Nero11. One thing why there isn't a delete feature I just cannot understand.

I'm guessing the reason the files are locked is because KM works by scanning folders that are shown in the Library. Those folders would have to be on your hard drive or other attached devices, such as an external hard drive or USB thumb drive, etc. If the source device is not available, then it doesn't know where the files are. However, the fact that the pictures are displayed seems to indicate to me that the files (or thumbnails) are on your hard drive and it could be that they can be retrieved.

You can try the slide show route that I mentioned.

Elsewise, you could send an E-mail to tech support.

If they can't tell you how to retrieve the files, then the only option I can think of is to use the Windows Snipping tool to take a screenshot of the files you want to keep. Yes that will be tedious.

Today 'arvo' I took your advice tried your suggestion of sideshow - selected the photos I decided to use. 126. Click on create new and their was sideshow. Actually I selected the photos first - clicked on create new at the bottom of the screen - it opens and the selected photos went straight into sideshow.

I then thought I will give it a go in deleting one of the photos - click on one of the photos and went to the drop down menu at the bottom of the screen and click on delete. A message came up the file/photo was not available as it had been deleted. A new message asked the queston Y/N did I want to remove the drive from the library. Then up come a small screen concering the drive. Name of drive E - Photos files on E drive 7091 - Music files 1907 (exactly the number of songs I have on my Apple4 iPhone Vidio Files 5. So apparently not muliple photos just singles. As I told you I have collected a lot through boxing and family history. Still many more on external drive - disks I have found plus a lot more in 'sticks' and 'cards' My concern is if I had of hit the Yes button I losed most of my edits which took a lot of time believe me wither. So all is not lost other then maybe a few photos and all my edits.

Before I try one again I will wait for a final response from you concerning tech support. Is it possible to save this complete file with me trying to describe the problem. I am no rocket scientist and it take time to put it all together again. A leading question - Could you help in forwarding it onto the tech's please. I have a meeting on tomorrow night Boxing so I will be busy most of tomorrow getting ready.

I put myself into this situaton - I was upset over what has happened - accepted it and given time it will be OK I feel sure. I thank you for your help and yes the sideshow function would have been great if it worked - unfortunately it never.

Before we go to tech support, there are a couple of things I would like you to try:

1. Create a slide show. After you add your photos, click on "Edit slide show with Nero Video". You will be in the Nero Video editing screen and you should be able to scroll through your photos. Underneath the preview screen is a camera icon. Click on it. The go to C:\Users\Administrator\Pictures. Do you see your photo with the name "snapshot.........."?

2. After you create a slide show, select Publish/burn and burn it to DVD. Does that work?

Me again aceman - now I tried as you suggested a few things you suggested I do, however no results as I see it - yes I put a lot of my photos of family into 'create a sideshow' Clicked on vidio/edit which give me access to scroll though my phots - then I tried deleting one photo and the message came up 'unable to import the following files as probably not supported or damaged (now the photo was on display in sideshow) - also when I hit the delete button on one photo - again the message is 'photo been deleted before.' Yet the photo is still there. Feel I never loaded the files through the library has caused all these problems. Message comes up to delete drive E. I wrote concerning this in my prior post.

I then tried exporting the files under Create and Export - I selected DVD. The file had been reloaded earlier - yes it started to save the file - when this item was complete - I hit the export button and seemingly it in fact exported the file. To where I don't know perhaps to docements or C drive as I get a message trying to locate the file - Go to C:/Users/Administration/Picters. As of now I haven't done a google search but will before 'off to bed'

Now what has happened as I see it - Computer is not responding "hang up" can can also freeze up. Question what is needed more memory - as it has got worse since I updated from Nero11 to Nero Platinum11. The old memory isn't the best and believe it or not I go to do something on the computer and forget. This Nero11P~~~ one most certainly brought into a tin of worms. I guess some users and been using Nero for some time and they rearly strike hurdles. If I knew what I know now - thanks to you - and used the library tool for bringing photos into Nero. I have yet to try burn - has me thinking when I exporting the sideshow file and it went to '?' the photos in fact remain on the sideshow. So copies of the photos online made up the file.

I tell you what wither I should be call dum dim dumer. Looks like a nero tech will be needed. If I give them my password - can they open the file so see what can be done? I left school at age 13 and work in the bush. No computer in those days. Sorry if this post confuses you as I am tired.

Trouble is, you didn't do what I requested in 1. After you add the files to the slide show, don't select video/edit. Select "Edit slide show with Nero Video". Then take a snapshot of one of the photos with the camera. Then look for the file in the Pictures folder.

We can get to 2. another time.

Why are you trying to use the delete function? The files are embedded in KM, the best I can tell. What I'm asking you to try should eliminate the need to do that, if it works.

Now wither I have done everything you requested and the influx of photos to Nero via files from Pisca3 has blocked everything - concerning the deleted photos my opinion is that 'they' came across when I loaded most threads into files on Picasa - and transferred them all to Nero3 - which accounts for the ten copies of one photo. I had deleted a lot of photos after they were edited - but somehow they were still hidden in Picasa - no other way ten copies of the one photo would have been transferred.

I have again done a 'Create a sideshow- loaded some photos into into sideshow and selected Publish/burn to cd. Never responded in being able to do that wither. I will give it one more go. Yes I tried to delete photos off sideshow as there is a button 'more' where I found the delete button. It never worked either so I did as you instructed plus viewed all the buttons on 'sideshow' where I found as said - the delete button. Nero 11 is the only program I am aware of that locks photo and one cannot delete them. Yes you said load photos into Nero11 is done through the library, I transferred my files as files direct to Nero11. THAT WORKED and has caused the trouble - mulpile copies of photos now over 23,000 there. Most certainly a hipcup for Nero11 Plat' Kwit. I contacted

I contacted Nero tech' early yesterday morning approx 37 hours back and waiting for a respoonse. By the looks of things if the tech cannot get things working for me - I will be requesting a full refund and stick with Picasa3. If I know all this was going to happen no way would I have invested in Nero11 Platimun. Why cannot I be in charge of my photos and delete photos I don't want????????

The reason I suggest going to Nero video with your slide show and trying the camera is because, if it works, then you can save the photos you want, even though you'll need to rename them.

As I understand it, you couldn't burn your slide show. It may not have worked because you used a CD instead of a DVD.

There's nothing wrong with Kwik Media in regards to this problem. The problem you're having is because the transfer of the files to KM was done and the original files deleted from their original locations. As a result, KM can't find the files to delete them. All you have is thumbnails. Tech support may be able to tell you where they are so you can recover them.

As I see it, the only way to get rid of the photos in Kwik Media is to uninstall it and then reinstall. However, if tech support can help you locate the thumbnails, then you probably can delete them. However, you don't want to do that until you've recovered a copy of the photos and that's what I'm trying to help you with.

Not taking you to task; but I put a disk in the drive with some the photos, reasoning Kwik Media would use the disk in the drive as a SOURCE then tried a stick with photos on to no avail. Right if I delete all the photos and start from scratch I lose a lot of edited photos as we are aware. I will hang in and see it out. If KM lives upto what it advertises then all will be OK.

I have been more then happy with your help wither as your reasonable and really tried to help me. The solution I feel is for the tech to load all the photos into a couple large file and I can sort them out. Microsoft 'my pictures' would be an ideal place for the photos to uploaded to -
