I have a large avi file and thought I'd add chapters to it then burn it, but each time (for a while now) keep getting a small grey pop-up error saying "Statsfile not found!"
What does this mean and how can I stop it from occurring so often? |

Also, at what point in the process are you getting that error?

Thanks guys.
I get the error as soon as I hit the 'export' or next/burn buttons, basically after importing any file and commanding Nero Vision (version 4.9.7.6) to work! Baker, I may try the chat soon if I don't resolve my issue. Thanks |

Hi I'm using Windows XP on a Compaq desktop. Everything else is fine and clean and my connection etc is great.
QUOTE Are you choosing anything different that the defaults in the Recording Format Options. I'm simply opening up Nero (Vision or Express) and adding a file, then selcting chapters and clicking 'next' or 'burn' etc? This post has been edited by jonashillius: May 31 2012, 07:21 PM |

Please be more detailed. You can't just click on chapters in Nero Vision and expect chapters to be detected or added. You must be doing something else in this regard. Look at the help file regarding creating chapters.

Obviously not. I mean, at the point when I am ready to start my desired action such as 'next' and 'burn' etc (when the file is loaded and after the chapters have been chosen and set), i get the error.

download mediainfo. Open your video file. Select View\Tree. Take a screenshot that shows the video and audio formats.
Is your AVI commercial? |

The file is using some pretty old codecs for DivX but I don't know if that has anything to do with your problem.
You said- I get the error as soon as I hit the 'export' or next/burn buttons, basically after importing any file and commanding Nero Vision (version 4.9.7.6) to work! The keyword in that sentence is "any". Is that true? |

Thanks, wither.
I've noticed that for the last few months (I was not using my Nero for a while, but Imgburn, as I wasn'r exporting files or adding chapters) i get the "Statsfile" error pop-up with every and any avi file (I don't try mpegs etc). I just tried a different file to upload, add chapters and try 'export', but got that message again? I do know it can be 'fixed' easily as I tried it weeks ago, and did something (create a file in a folder?) following advice I Googled for, and it worked, but am damned if I can remember what I did? |

Don't you hate when that happens.
Here's some possible things- When you go to Export, look in the Recording Format Options. Is it set for 2-pass? If so, change it to single pass. Try uninstalling Imgburn Try recoding your file to mpeg-4 in Recode and then working with it in NV. |

Thanks, wither, I'll check those points out and get back.
EDIT: I just tried export (with avi file and chapters) without the 'video=compressed' option, and it now works! I don't know why the Nero program wouldn't like this setting? This post has been edited by jonashillius: Jun 5 2012, 07:17 PM |

Where is the setting you're referring to?
Some people get the error you got because they didn't have a compression codec for XviD but you have DviX. |
